A.1 —DAKE ATTE (-NI) Following nouns, basic forms of verbs both present and past tenses, basic form of i-adjectives, DAKE ATTE or DAKE NI expresses the meaning of as might be expected, because, or as becomes. Examples: EIGO NO SENSEI DAKE ATTE, EIGO GA JOOZU DESU. Because he is an English teacher, he is good in English (as might be expected). ANO SEITO WA YOKU BENKYOO SURU DAKE ATTE, YOKU DEKIMASU. That student does well because he studies hard. DAIGAKU E ITTA DAKE ATTE IROIRO NO KOTO O SHITTE IMASU. As might be expected from his study in a university, he knows many things. KORE WA YASUI DAKE NI SHINA GA WARUI. This is cheap and as might be expected, the quality is bad. Note! DAKE ATTE may at times be preceded by SASUGA NI to express the same meaning. For example; SASUGA NI SENSEI DAKE ATTE JOOZU DESU. He is good because he is a teacher.
```
```

As you cruise through this paradise of seascapes and mirrored vistas, glimpses of dazzling sand beaches, tiny little islands with fishing villages nestled in coves and the never-ceasing procession of boats, large and small, provide a continuous form of visual entertainment. This inland sea is now designated as one of the National Parks of Japan.
```
```
SHIMIZU SHIMIZU is an excellent natural port in Shizuoka Prefecture and exports goods worth more than eleven million dollars yearly, tea being the most important product.
