A lifetime of great books, planned.
The Great Books Reading List, a free app from 1732 Studios, turns two thousand classics into a reading plan built on your pace and your years.
Of the great books, which ones will you actually get to? The Great Books Reading List answers with arithmetic. Read one page to set your pace, add your birth year and your minutes a day, and see your list: the great books you will read, and in what order.
The list runs to 2,071 books, from Homer to Morrison and from the Bhagavad Gita to Beloved. Each shows its real length in hours at your pace. The list includes the St. John’s College Program and Harold Bloom’s Western Canon, and you can read from either one alone.
The app is a planner. You read the books wherever you like. Each book is one tap from a copy: your public library’s catalog, Libby, Hoopla, Amazon in paper, Kindle, Audible, or a free Project Gutenberg text. You choose your library once, from every public library system in the United States.
